‘Howdy Modi’, Priyanka questions PM on US denial of H-1B visas

NEW DELHI: Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the US move to reduce the number of H-1 B visas granted to indians , Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday said that despite the Prime Minister going to US and doing the ‘Howdy Modi’ event, America have reduced H- 1B visas for Indians, who want to work there.
“The question that everybody should ask the BJP government is that who is being benefited during its rule. The Prime Minister went to America and held his ‘Howdy Modi’ event, but the US increased the rejection of H-1B visas of Indians, who want to work there”, Ms Priyanka tweeted in Hindi.
Priyanka’s criticism comes days after a study conducted by National Foundation for American Policy, an American think-tack, pointed out that under Donald Trump regime, there is a massive increase in the rejection of petitions for H-1B visas.
It had also said that the rate of denial of H-1B, a non-immigrant visa which allows American companies to hire workers from outside countries for Indian IT companies, is highest during the Donald Trump regime .
Priyanka, who is highly critical on Modi government over Indian economy, also said that “the condition of the economy is very bad”.
“The service sector has collapsed. Employment is decreasing. However, these rulers are busy in themselves while the people are suffering”, she said in another tweet.
