Housewife attempts suicide, girl sustains burn injuries

UDHAMPUR, Nov 10: In separate incidents, a young housewife attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance while a 17-year old girl sustained critical burn injuries under mysterious circumstance.
According to Police reports,  Simi Devi (28),  wife of Ashok Kumar of Sayal Slan, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at the house of her in-laws. She was rushed to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred her to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of her critical condition.
Cause behind the provocation could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
In a separate incident,  17- year  old  Anjana Devi,  daughter of Vijay Kumar of Gandala in Udhampur sustained critical burn injuries at her house.  Family members immediately shifted her to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred her to GMC Jammu. Her condition was stated to be critical.
Meanwhile, three people were injured when two vehicles collided  at Omara Morh  while a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on the National Highway at Khari.
Reports said that  a Tata -407 load carrier,  bearing Registration number JK14B-6298, collided  with a car JK02B-5725 at Omara Morh Udhampur resulting into injuries to  Subash Chander (60), son of Diwan Chand of Karlai and Sunil Kumar (23), son of Vaid  Nath of Childi.
A pedestrian was hit by a car  near Khari and locals  shifted him  to District Hospital Udhampur. The injured was  identified as Kubushan (29), son of Darshan Choudhary  of Cadwal Kathua.
