KATHUA, Mar 29: A horse cart driver died after falling down from Taruna nullah bridge near Hiranagar this morning.
He has been identified as Subash, 39, son of Bhagat Ram of Hiranagar. Police said the cart driver after reaching over the bridge stopped his cart for a while but as he was under the influence of intoxication he could not resist the influence of the drugs and fell down from the bridge in an unconscious state. The people came to know of the accident after some time. They rushed to the spot but by then he had breathed his last.
His body was taken to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Hiranagar where the doctors declared him brought dead. The dead body was handed over to family members by Police after postmortem.
The Hiranagar Police has registered a case under Section 174 in this regard.
