Function held at Mata Chakrashwari after long gap

JAMMU, Feb 25: Hora Ashtami festival was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety during last night by Kashmiri Pandits.
After a long gap of decades together Hora Ashtami festival was observed in the premises and holy darbar of Mata Chakrashwari Shree Sharika Bagwati Hari Parbat Daviangan, Srinagar, Kashmir.
The age -old traditional Puja started with the same style, fervour and fashion as was previously being conducted from century’s together. Despite heavy snow fall and biting cold the Puja and Jagratra was organized by Shree Shri Sharika Chakrashwari Sanastha the age old governing body of the shrine. Along with the other members of Sanastha the puja was performed by Ranjeet Gurkha , president of the Sanastha.
This traditional Puja was performed under the guidance of Jia Krishan Khar the noted Vedacharya, the senior most member of Sanastha and an ardent devotee of Jagatambha . Besides, the ,members of Sanastha the prominent personalities of the community and devotees from all over the country participated in the religious function.
Devotional bajans and puja were performed during the whole night with a purpose to invoke Mata Sharika’s to blessings to entire community and mitigate its sufferings. Another function was performed by the senior members of the Sanastha at Hari Parbat Dok Paloura Jammu.
In connection with Hora Ashtami celebrations a nigh long Jagran was held at Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udaiwala , Bohri under the strict COVID protocol last night which concluded with Bhagawaan Ji’s Aarti this morning.
A good number of devotees thronged the Ashram for night- long Jagran and offered prayers to Bhagawaan Ji. Shanti Lal Sid a well known Bhajan singer presented Bhakti Sangeet .
As per Ashram handout the celebrations were held at the Bhagawaanji’s Ashrams Kharyar, Srinagar, Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi, Vikaspuri, West Delhi, Bangaluru, Pune , Maharashtra and various other centers.
Hora Ashtami was also celebrated with usual enthusiasm and piety by the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Jammu. A large gathering of KPs performed Pooja Archana in the temple of Mata Bhawani and prayed for peace and well being of the people. The Puja was led by the president of the Sabha K K Khosa and was attended by all members of the Sabha.
Another night long function was held at Jyotshi Karyalya Gole Gujral under the chairmanship of Pt Omkar Nath Shastri a well known religious scholar and chairman Pandit Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan. A night long Jagran was held and bhajan Kirtan continued.
Jyotshi Bushan Lal and Avtar Krishan Shastri threw light on the significance of this holy festival which falls prior to Maha Shivratri.
The Hora Ashtami was also cele4rated by Brahman Maha Mandal Kashmir at Geeta Colony, Laleh Da Bagh where the speakers threw light on the significance of the day. Puja archana was performed and devotees were served prashad.
Another function was held in Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram, Muthi where night long Jagran and Bhajan Kirtan was held under the chairmanship of Swami Kumar Ji. The function concluded in the morning with serving of prashad to devotees.
Hora Ashtami was also celebrated by Shraika Peeth Sanstha, Subash Nagar under the chairmanship of M K Jalali, president of the Sanstha.
