NEW DELHI, Mar 24: Travel and holiday information portal Holiday IQ.Com plans to add about 200 more jobs by 2016 as part of its plans to ramp up number of its destination sales offices in the country.
The on line firm, which serves as a platform for providing information for travel and holiday planning for domestic tourists with a staff of 200 is also working to increase traffic for its site to 2.5 crore per month by 2016.
“As part of our expansion plans and the type of growth we are witnessing as a company, we will be doubling our staff strength in next three years. We will also open an office in South East Asia,” Holiday IQ.Com Founder and CEO Hari Nair told.
The company has around 30,000 hotels listed on its website with 1,500 destinations, he added.
When asked about increasing its traffic, he said: “We plan to increase the numbers of travellers visiting our site to 2.5 crore per month from 45 lakh at present.”
As part of its growth plans, the company had third round of funding in middle of 2012.
“Holiday IQ has had three significant round of fundings since its inception. The last was in 2012. It was done by US based venture capital firms Tiger Global and Accel Partners,” Nair said without disclosing the financial details.
The next round of funding could be after 18 to 24 months, he added.
On being asked about the business model of the company Nair said: “We follow ‘cost per search model’. We don’t transact with the consumers.” (PTI)
