JAMMU, Jan 19: Accusing the BJP-PDP combine of manoeuvring large scale backdoor and politically motivated appointments in several Government departments besides refusal to entertain the candidates duly selected by recruitment agencies including SSB, JKNPP Chairman and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh has sought a high level probe into the entire gamut of fake selections made by the present Government during the last three years.
Addressing a press conference, here today, he made a particular mention of the selection list of eight candidates of Jammu region for the posts of Asstt Extension Officer, issued by the SSB, Harsh Dev Singh regretted that the Industries Deptt had refused to entertain the same on the plea that no vacancies were available. He pointed out that the said selections were made by the SSB in pursuance of Adv notice No. 3 of 2015 dated 08-08-2015 on the requisition made by the Industries Deptt vide its reference No. IND/DIC-11 dated 29-05-2015.
Displaying the lists of back door appointees in Industries Deptt before the media, Singh sought the intervention of Governor and Chief Minister. He said that these backdoor appointments in various wings of the Industries Deptt were only a tip of the ice-berg with thousands of such of illegal appointments having been made in various other Govt deptts at the cost of bonafide and meritorious candidates.
Singh further said that Police Deptt topped the list with several hundreds of such irregular appointments of SPOs without observing due selection process followed by Industries Deptt, PHE, Forests, I&FC, RDD, and JK Cements, SIDCO besides other State Govt Corporations. He divulged that scores of SPOs had been reportedly appointed on the recommendations of the politicians while the rumours were amongst the deserving candidates that the back door appointees had paid Rs 1 lakh for their engagement against the posts.
Singh also drew attention towards purported backdoor appointment on the recommendation of RDD Minister with the comments “apna admi”, Singh claimed that the said appointment order was only a tip of the ice berg with several such appointment orders having been issued by corrupt ministers and bureaucrats through backdoor.
