Home Minister Rajnath Singh today directed BSF chief K K Sharma to rush to Jammu and Kashmir to assess the situation after three jawans were killed and four others injured when terrorists ambushed their convoy on Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
Soon after the attack, the Home Minister spoke to the Director General of the Border Security Force and instructed him to rush to the spot to review the situation.
Singh has also expressed deep anguish over the death of the BSF personnel in the ambush and prayed for recovery of the injured, an official said.
The attack took place when the BSF convoy comprising 23 vehicles was coming from Jammu to Srinagar ferrying jawans who were returning to join their duties after their leave. (PTI)
