JAMMU, May 22: A youth was killed after an unknown vehicle hit him in Kalidhar area on Akhnoor-Sunderbani- Rajouri highway today.
A police spokesman said that one Amit Sharma, son of Kartar Chand, resident of village Malada in Akhnoor, was moving on-foot along the road side. When he reached near Chowki Chora, an unknown vehicle hit him at an isolated place on the highway.
The youth kept lying on the road in injured condition for some time. Then a vehicle operator informed police at Chowki Chora Naka about the accident. The police shifted the victim to Sunderbani Hospital, where doctors declared him as brought dead. Excessive bleeding was said to be the cause of death as victim remained lying on the road unattended for long. The police registered a case and started investigation.
