History sheeter among 3 arrested with stolen items worth around Rs 6 lakh

JAMMU, Sept 22: Peer Mitha police arrested three persons including a history sheeter along with stolen vehicles, gold ornaments and other items valuing around Rs 6 lakh.
As per police sources, on September 19 this year, a complaint was lodged by Tariq Hussain, son of Mohammad Jameel of Jogi Gate Wabay Wali Galli that some unidentified persons entered into his house during the intervening night of September 18 and 19 and decamped with gold ornaments.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 57/2020 under sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and special police teams were constituted for searching the thieves.
After strenuous efforts, a team from Police Station Peer Mitha led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali and assisted by ASI Mohammad Hanief arrested the three accused, who were identified as Rahul Sharma alias Bibu, son of Vijay Kumar of Gujjar Nagar, Sachin Kumar, son of Balwant Kumar of Bawe Kachha Talab Bagh-e-Bahu and Arjun Sharma alias Glodhu, son of Vinod Sharma of Shaheedi Chowk.
During questioning, Rahul Sharma and Arjun Sharma have also confessed their involvement in a case registered under FIR Numbers 55/2020 under sections 457, 380 and 511 IPC and 56/2020 under sections 457 and 380 IPC with Police Station Peer Mitha, FIR Numbers 109/2002 under sections 457 and 380 IPC and 103/2020 under sections 457 and 380 IPC with Police Station Pacca Danga, FIR Number 46/2020 under sections 457 and 380 IPC with Police Station City Jammu and FIR Number 145/2020 under section 379 IPC with Police Station Bakshi Nagar.
On their disclosure, police team recovered 4 stolen bikes, 30 ladies cut suites, 17 curtains, 2 LCD, 1 wrist watch and 3 tolas gold ornaments including 1 Mangalsutra, 2 pair earrings, 1 pendent, 1 tops, 1 tikka and 1 nose pin.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that accused namely Sachin Kumar is a history sheeter of Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and cases under FIR Numbers 41/2005, 63/2008, 52/2015, 31/2016, 83/2017 and 94/2017 stands registered against him.
FIR Numbers 205/2000, 14/2001, 48/2002, 1/2002, 76/2013, 7/2014 and 15/2014 stands registered at Peer Mitha Police Station against Arjun Sharma alias Goldhu. Moreover, a case of attempt to murder stands register against Rahul Sharma at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement on other theft cases.
