Hideout busted in Kishtwar, arms, ammunition recovered

JAMMU:
Security forces today busted a militant hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in mountainous Kishtwar district.
A joint search operation was launched today by the troops of Delta Force located at Bhandarkut in Kishtwar along with police and unearthed a cache of weapons and ammunition from a hideout near Kuchhal village, defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
He said after a detailed search of over 42 hours, the security forces recovered one PIKA Machine Gun with 100 belted ammunition, two .303 rifles, two 12 bore guns, one UBGL with 16 grenades, four Chinese grenades, 16 rounds of .303 ammunition and one YAESU  radio set.
“Kuchal village of Chattru Sub Division of this district was once the safe haven for terrorists and the area has witnessed the worst history of militancy in Kishtwar,” he added. (AGENCIES)
