REASI, Aug1: Heavy rainfall paralyzed normal life across the Reasi district causing floods in nallahs, land-slides and blockade of several roads.
A heavy land slide also occurred at famous Siarh Baba waterfall and administration closed the Talwara Siarhbaba road as precautionary measure.
During last night, a cattle shed belonging to Toori Devi, wife of Kapoor Singh of Chandi Deeri Gala in Arnas collapsed. Three oxen and two cows were burried alive in the shed collapse.
According to SDPO Arnas, Mohd Aslam Mir, Police party from Raskeen Special Police Post were sent to the area but they were facing difficulty to reach the spot because of a nallah filled with water in the way.
Meanwhile reports from tehsil Chassana said that many foot bridges collapsed due to heavy rain. Bridge Rudi Manjikote, Jia Bagudass Pull and Tharaila Ramanbass collapsed due to heavy rains.
Road from Mahore to Jammu was closed till last reports came in.
Meanwhile, heavy rains in Dudu and adjoining areas caused a house collapse and blockage of Sudhmahadev road, last night.
It is reported that Kachha house of one Bishan Dass, son of Kirpa Ram of Dudu was damaged due to heavy rain. However, there was no loss of any life even as the house was badly damaged.
Heavy rains also triggered massive landslide on roadside of village Chakan Ala resulting into blockage of road to Sudhmahadev for vehicular traffic.
