SRINAGAR, July 19: The High Court today issued bailable warrants to top Government officials for defying and taking the orders of the court casually.
Court of Justice M K Hanjura has issued bailable warrants to Commissioner Secretary to Agriculture, Vice Chancellor SKUAST and Director Agriculture for not complying with the orders of the court.
The Inspector General of Police Kashmir has been directed to execute the warrants against these officials for securing their presence before the court on next date.
“Therefore, bailable warrants in the sum of Rs 10000 each shall be issued against the respondents and these shall be executed through IGP”, Justice Hanjura directed.
The warrants have been issued in a contempt petition filed by on Ghulam Hassan Shah of Pulwama (employee of Agriculture department) for seeking implementation of basic order of the court.
Court in 2008 had directed the respondents that whatever benefits would be available to the petitioner in given circumstances, same be done within 2 months from now preferably after hearing the petitioner.
On March 2017 last opportunity was granted to the respondents for filing of requisite report with the rider that in default the officials shall remain present personally.
Thereafter for non-compliance of said direction, SSP concerned was directed to secure their presence before the court. Neither the requisite report has been filed nor the officials remained present which prompted the court to issue bailable warrants against the officials.
