RAMBAN, July 19: District Development Commissioner Tariq Hussain Ganai today convened a meeting with various stakeholders to discuss the draft Master Plan for holistic development of Ramban town.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Vivek Puri, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh, Chief Town Planner Jammu, Joginder Singh, XEns of PDD, PHE and PWD, Town Planning consultants, district officers, Army Officers, shopkeepers and prominent citizens of Ramban.
It was informed that the proposed draft has been divided into three parts and four phases for the period 2017 to 2035 to develop the town on modern lines.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC directed the consultants to formulate Master Plan as per aspirations of residents of Ramban especially youth also creating employment opportunities besides keeping in view topography of the local planning area and proposed Land Use Plan areas including Seri, Pernote, Govindpura Maitra, Karol, Neera, Tatarsoo and Chanderkote to be planned in light of construction of four laning project and Sawalakote Hydro power project as low lying areas coming under submergence in dam .
The consultants of NF Infratech Service Pvt, Ltd. New Delhi gave a power point presentation on the draft Master Plan for Ramban town which was prepared after taking into account detailed survey of the existing infrastructure, road networks, business establishments, geographical attributes, demographic set up, tourist sites, forest cover, condition of the land and ongoing development activities in the town and adjoining areas.
DDC sought suggestions from all stakeholders and stressed on their active partaking in finalizing the proposed draft for holistic sustainable development of Ramban town.
Pertinently, after taking and incorporating suggestions of the stake holders and officers of Town Planning Organization Jammu, the draft Master Plan will be ratified within the preview of Hydro Electric Sawalakote Project and four laning of National Highway before its finalization and submission to the Government.
