HC seeks report of inquiry into irregularities in KVIB

Srinagar, Apr 6: High Court has sought report of inquiry into irregularities in selections of J&K Khadi Village and Industries Board (KVIB).
Senior Additional Advocate General, BA Dar has been asked to ensure production of enquiry report before the Court on the next date of hearing, without any fail.
Court was hearing the matter under which selections in the KVIB has been challenged and the court previously directedand the appointees shall not be given benefit for the selection and appointments made in the much controversial appointment in KVIB.
The Government after irregularities were found in the selection process had ordered an inquiry into the matter and constituted a three member panel headed by R K Goyal, Principal Secretary Home Department.
It may be mentioned that among the selectees in the Board (KVIB) was son of Sartaj Madni, PDP senior leader, as an Executive Officer of the board.
Meanwhile, the resignation tendered by one of the selectees has been placed before the court as also the letter of acceptance about the resignation by the authorities.
The High Level Inquiry Committee was tasked to enquire into the complaints relating to the alleged unfair selection made by the J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board against various posts so as to determine as to whether proper procedure as laid down in the relevant rules have been followed, as has been done by the other recruiting agencies or not.
Pertinently, former Chief Minister Mehbooba had announced probe days after the then Government came under a barrage of criticism over the appointment of the son of then PDP vice-president (Sartaj Madini) as an executive officer in the KVIB.
Madni’s son Syed Aroot Madni featured in the selection list of the Board, while the nephew of PDP general secretary and KVIB vice-chairman Peerzada Mansoor Hussain was placed in the waiting list for the post of Assistant Executive Officer.
