HC seeks details of business establishments not having parking space

JAMMU, Aug 23: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has sought details of business establishments including hotels, banquet halls and tuition centres which are not having parking space at their premises and whether any action has been taken against such establishments by the respondents.
This significant order has been passed by Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal. During the proceedings, it has come to fore from the information dated 20.05.2017 provided by Jammu Municipality Corporation under Right to Information Act) that there are many hotels, which do not have parking space and yet no action has been taken by the respondents.
According to the information, which has been disputed by counsel for the petitioner, there are more than 160 hotels, which do not have any parking space, besides there are many business/commercial establishments which include banquet halls/ tuition centers, which too, do not have any parking space and the same is a cause of concern of traffic hazards within the Municipal limits of Jammu.
Petitioner has also placed on record the list of various hotels which had absolutely no sanction plan and no parking space but no action has been initiated against them by the respondents.
