Construction of flats by pvt builder on JDA land

JAMMU, Aug 18: In a petition highlighting construction of flats by a private builder on Jammu Development Authority (JDA) land, Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul has issued notices to Enforcement Directorate, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Revenue Secretary, VC JDA, V K Magoo, ex-Chairman J&K Housing Cooperative Society Ltd, Managing Director of the Corporation, Naresh Sabarwal (builder) and Horizon Construction, New Delhi for filing reply within 10 days.
In the petition, the petitioner Advocate Rajinder Singh Jamwal, the practising lawyer, has levelled serious allegations against the office bearers of J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation Ltd as well as Horizon Construction for construction of River Castle Apartments at Tawi Vihar Sidhra on the land transferred to JDA.
“When JDA got the knowledge of the fraud, it stopped the construction and initiated eviction proceedings but the builder without any locus standi filed a writ petition through one Manjeet Singh, who is an employee of Naresh Sabarwal and an interim direction was obtained for continuing the construction”, the petitioner said.
