HC hit by rashly driven car, driver arrested

JAMMU, Mar 27: A Head Constable (HC) of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) was seriously injured, when a rashly driven Maruti car hit him at Kunjwani check post, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station.
As per reports, a rashly driven Maruti car bearing registration number JK02AK-2065 hit a Head Constable (HC) namely Thakur Dass, a resident of Ramnagar, presently residing at Bari-Brahmana during checking at Kunjwani check post last night.
Profusely bleeding Head Constable (HC) was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
The accused driver identified as Rajinder Singh, son of Krishan Singh of Upper Jallo Chack, Sainik Colony tried to escape from the spot, but was chased and apprehended by the police. The vehicle has also been seized.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
