Srinagar, Mar 27: The State High Court has directed the State Government to stay the filling up of already occupied technical expert posts in Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD) which were advertised last month by the concerned department.
“Subject to objections and till next date before the Bench, it is provided that the posts held by the petitioners shall not be filled up in pursuance to advertisement Notice No. 01/2016 dated 29th February, 2016,” directed Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar after hearing the petitioners’ counsel, Advocate Altaf Ahmad Mehraj. The Court has also sought objections from the Government as why the petition filed by the petitioners may not be answered.
Court directed the Government to allow the petitioners to continue and they should be also paid salary/wages in accordance with rules. Another Bench of High Court has already stayed the filling of up these posts.
The advertisement of posts by H&UDD came even after both Jammu and Srinagar benches of State High Court stayed the termination of nearly 20 city-level experts engaged in March 2015. Ironically, the H&UDD neither restored the terminated experts nor released their salaries as directed by the High Court recently.
