JAMMU, Jan 3: State High Court today attached the salary head of Higher Education Department for non-compliance of the directions.
The order regarding attachment of salary head was passed in a contempt petition filed by one Dr Girdhari Lal Dogra.
Senior Advocate U K Jalali appearing for the petitioner submitted that the respondents have not deposited the salary component till date and similar is the fate of judgment relating to other aspects.
On this, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal observed, “by not even paying the salary component, the respondents have called upon this court to take coercive method for implementing the judgment”.
Accordingly, Justice Kotwal ordered that salary head of Higher Education Department, to the extent of salary of all the Gazetted officers of the Administrative Department shall remain attached till the salary component is deposited in this court.
The High Court directed Director General Treasuries to ensure strict compliance of the order.
