HBET launches online tuition classes

JAMMU, Sept 25: As most schools and other educational institutes are closed due to COVID-19 pandemic, Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) has launched online tuitions for economically weak and needy students of classes 2nd to 6th.
These classes are being conducted on Zoom, Google meet and Wise App.
HBET has been awarding scholarships since 1997 and the number of children helped by the Trust every year has grown from 12 to over 400.
Till now over Rs 1.5 crore has been spent on scholarship and educational support by HBET which aims to cover as many rural children as possible in Jammu region.
In a handout the Trust stated that it will conduct academic test for students from September 27 to 30 this year wherein the reporting time will be 9:00 am and the eligible classes would be 1st, 2nd and 3rd only and only 70 to 80 new students will be taken in this session.
Every year HBET takes new students of classes 1st, 2nd and 3rd from needy families for scholarship and support. Around 300 students sit for this entrance test every year.
