REASI, May 28: Reasi Police today arrested a Central Force Havaldar from Jammu, who was blackmailing his victim girls by creating fake facebook accounts on their name and posting obscene messages.
The accused has been identified as Ghar Singh son of Thouru Ram of border village Diwan Garh Camp, Jabowal Khurd, Adhlehar Jammu, who is presently working as Havaldar in Central Force. He used to operate from his unit at Rajasthan.
Police investigations revealed that the said accused, in the grab of Central Force, used to create many fake accounts of the females and post vulgar and obscene messages/photographs for blackmailing the victims through different mobile numbers of Rajasthan State. He was already wanted in different FIRs registered at P/Ss Bakshi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Rajouri etc.
Giving details, Additional SP Reasi, Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan said that on May 8, 2019, an application was received at Police Station Reasi from the father of the victim girl alleging therein that some unknown persons had created fake Facebook accounts of his minor daughter . The said fake accounts had been opened wherein the unknown culprits posted the photographs of his daughter, wife and other family members besides obscene and vulgar messages . The said culprit even posted pornographic material on the mobile phone of the victim and attempted to blackmails her on the count that if she did not respond to his wishes, he would defame her and her family through these fake accounts. Moreover, the said culprit also hacked the Facebook details of one more girl of Bhambla and blackmailed her on the same pattern through the same phone numbers.
On this complaint, a case FIR number 92/2019 U/S 66 (c) IT Act, 509/RPC, 12 POCSO Act was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation was started. During the course of investigation, SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal constituted a special team comprising of Inspr Ashwani Sharma, SHO Reasi and SI Purshotam Sharma, I/C PP Jyotipuram, to investigate the said case. The said team after strenuous efforts and seeking technical assistance from Cyber Cell Reasi , was able to identify the accused.
Thereafter, the special team, led by Inspr Ashwani Sharma was dispatched to Rajasthan, the place of posting of the accused who was found to be on leave. After a lot of hard work, finally the police team succeeded to arrest the said accused today from Reasi where he was trying to manage his bail in the said case.
