: Prof Bhim Singh chief patron of NPP today installed MLA Ram Nagar Harsh Dev Singh as chairman and MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia as president of the Party for two next years in presence of a large number of Party activists at a Special Session of the JKNPP on its 31st anniversary held at Parade Ground here today.
On the occasion a 22 point resolution was moved by Party general secretary H C Jalmeria which was unanimously adopted by the Party.
The resolution among other things demanded re-organisation of the state on the basis of the cultural, geographical and linguistic identity of each region, all the regions of J&K state including those under illegal occupation of Pakistan and areas held by China need to be untied and fixing the term of State Assembly for five years instead of six.
The resolution expressed resentment against the anti people policies of UPA Government, stressed on catering the growing unemployment problem. It demanded Rs 5000 as unemployment allowance to all graduates and Rs 3000 to others till they are provided a job, creation of districts of Billawar, Nowshera, Akhnoor etc and delimitation of tehsils and blocks as recommended by Wazir Commission, ST status and political reservations to Gujjars, Paharis and Gaddies, establishment of Dogra Pahari Pradesh, holding of elections under Governor’s rule, containing rising prices, eradication of corruption, criminalization and communalization of politics, electoral reforms and amendment in Article 370.
The resolution further demanded implementation of 1994 and 2013 Parliament resolutions, adequate representation to women, regularization of services of SPOs, ReTs and contractual employees, empowerment of Panchayats, implementation of Advocates Act and formation of Bar Council in J&K, implementation of Labour laws including Minimum Wages Act, settlement of PoK refugees in accordance with international law, grant of statehood to Palestine and complete disarmament in the world.
The session among others was addressed by vice president Iqbal Choudhary, general secretary, Ms Anita Thakur, provincial president Faqir Nath, MLAs Yashpaul Kundal, Balwant Singh Mankotia and Harsh Dev Singh.
