REASI, Apr 5: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in association with NHPC Doctors organized Gynaecology and Mammography camp at NHPC Hospital, Jyotipuram.
The camp was inaugurated by Vanita Shekhar, wife of Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station in presence of Rakesh Goel, Chief Engineer (Civil), Dr Raksha Sharma, senior officers and employees of Salal Power Station.
The team was headed by Dr Raksha Sharma, Gynaecologist.
Speaking on the occasion, Vanita Shekhar said that women folk should go for gynaecology check-up periodically in routine. She further said that mammograms though do not prevent cancer, yet the said test can save lives by finding the fatal disease at an early stage when it is treatable, as localised cancers are being removed without resorting to major surgery.
In all, 51 patients including locals were examined during the camp and 20 mammography tests were done. Free medicines were also distributed among the patients.
