KATHUA, May 29: Provincial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) today appealed to the Governor, Satya Pal Malik to re-think the decision of disengagement of need based and casual workers engaged after 27.04.2010 and 17.03.2015.
In a press conference here today P.C Sharma, Provincial President of the Union said that 3405 need based and casual workers were engaged in PDD on dire need of the department.
He also said that without these workers, the system of PDD can’t run smoothly.
Sharma said that infrastructure of PDD has been increased two hundred times from the date of re-organization of the department while from 1981 to till date no post of lineman and SBAs has been created to meet the requirement of the department.
The Union leader asked if the Government is making any permanent employment or deployment in the department to meet the requirement of increased infrastructure in shape of lines, Grid Stations, Receiving Stations & Sub Stations.
He also said that previous Government registered these workers in records through bio-metric identification etc.
