Guv inaugurates Jammu University youth festival

JAMMU:
More than 1000 students from seven north Indian states are participating in the five days inter-university north zone youth festival at the Jammu University here.
Governor N N Vohra, who is the chancellor of Jammu University, today inaugurated festival Udgosh and appreciated the efforts of the university authorities to bring the youth closer.
“The participants would compete in 25 events in the field of music, fine arts, dance, drama, and literary activities,” a spokesperson  said.
Emphasising the importance of such festivals, Vohra said, “Such festivals are immensely helpful in strengthening the bonds of unity and communal harmony.”
The Governor said that these festivals provide an opportunity to the youth hailing from different cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds to meet, interact, understand and appreciate the wonderful diversities which exist in our country. (AGENCIES)
