JAMMU, Mar 23: Minister of State for Animal, Sheep Husbandry Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, who is also Chairman of Sheep and Sheep Products Development Board (SSPDB), today released pending 24 per cent Dearness Allowance to employees of the Board.
This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Minister here today to review functioning of Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments including Sheep and Sheep Products Development Board.
The Minister directed the Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu to formulate a comprehensive project report for fodder development on 9000 kanal of land available at Lam Rajouri under Fodder Development Programme immediately and forward the same to the concerned for early sanction. He stressed upon the Government functionaries to ensure that benefits of the Centrally Sponsored schemes percolate to the target lot well in time.
Threadbare discussion was held on procurement and availability of quality drugs at district and divisional level, status of projects in pipeline and the projects submitted to the Government of India for funding, organizing of breeder’s conference, cattle show, milk show and conduct of Departmental Promotion Committee meetings.
The Minister called for organizing breeder’s conferences and cattle and milk shows to aware farming community about the latest techniques in the field.
Detailed deliberations were also held on status of sheep quarters at Gurez and it was informed that the DPR for construction of laboratory complex at village Mastan has been prepared for commencing financial year.
