Gur prices end steady in thin trade

NEW DELHI, Aug 6:  Quiet conditions developed at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital with prices by and large after moving both ends on little bouts of buying and selling, finally ended same on last levels.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also pegged on previous closing levels amid muted demand.
Marketmen said limited buying interest amid adequate stocks managed to hold gur prices at last levels.
Following are today’s rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,300-3,400, pedi Rs 3,500-3,600, dhayya Rs 3,600-3,700  and shakkar Rs 3,800-3,900.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,600-2,650, chakku Rs 3,000-3,100, khurpa NA and  Ladoo NA.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,150-3,250 and dhayya NA.  (PTI)
