Freight rates fall on excess position of trucks

NEW DELHI, Aug 6: Freight rates for the nine-metric tonne pay load section for select destinations declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following easy availability of trucks against restricted cargo movements.
Transporters said, besides reduced cargo movements heavy availability of trucks in the market caused the fall in some of centres freight rates.
Capital to Kochi, Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Mysore freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 76,000, Rs 56,000, Rs 59,000 and Rs 66,000.
Rates to Indore, Chandigarh, Surat and Bengaluru also  moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 22,000, Rs 18,000, Rs 28,000 and Rs 62,000.
