JAMMU, Dec 29: Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has ordered promotion of 2008 batch IRS officer Rajeev Gubgotra as Joint Com-missioner of Income Tax.
Gubgotra, who belongs to Jammu and Kashmir, is presently posted in Pathankote as Deputy Commissioner. An order of his promotion as Joint Commissioner was issued by the CBDT today.
He has served on various posts in Bathinda, Ferozpur, Shimla and Srinagar as Income Tax Officer and Assistant Commissioner.
During his posting as Deputy Director of Income Tax Investigation Wing in Jammu, he conducted searches in the premises of jewellers which led to record surrender of Rs 30 crore.
