Guar gum futures dip on weak export demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 27: Guar gum prices tumbled by Rs 276 to Rs 8,810 per quintal in futures trade today after speculators liquidated their holdings, triggered by a weak export demand.

Traders said the fall in guar gum prices at futures market was mostly due to offloading of bets by speculators amid a subdued trend at the physical markets on non-stop supplies of guar seed from growing regions.

In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for the most-traded delivery in May was quoting sharply lower by Rs 276 or 3.04 per cent to Rs 8,810 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 45,625 lots.

Similarly, June contracts recorded a steep fall of  Rs 278 or 3.03 per cent to Rs 8,910 per quintal with an open interest of 19,800 lots. (PTI)
