Grass root development to be prioritized in J&K: Manhas

JAMMU, Feb 25: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Shamsher Singh Manhas who kick started construction work of lane and drain at Dhok Paloura area here, today said grass root development will be the priority of the UT Government in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said redressing the genuine demand of people and keeping in consideration the aspirations of common masses for the development is duty of every public representative.
Earlier MP was called on by a deputation of people from the Dhok Paloura area and was apprised about the dilapidated conditions of by lanes and drains. Manhas had assured that the problem will be solved in a stipulated period of time. He had also issued directives to the concerned department for initiating the work.
During the visit locals of the area highlighted various demands especially the construction of internal lanes and drains, installation of street lights, macdamization of link road connecting to the area which has been left abandoned by the concerned department thus creating inconvenience to the commuters on daily basis.
Manhas assured the locals that the issues will be resolved at the earliest and departments concerned will be directed strongly to act upon the same.
Further interacting with people Manhas said “after the abrogation of Article-370 and transformation of Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory we have been prioritizing the grass root development throughout the UT., While listening as well as redressing the genuine demands of the public on ground level as a result of this we could initiate the speedy developmental process in a true manner, “he added.
