JAMMU, Apr 19: Elections of Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank Retirees Welfare Association (JKGBRWA) were held during its Annual General Meeting (AGM), here today.
After detailed deliberations and consultations among the contestants, a consensus emerged in the larger interest of the Association, resulting in the unanimous election of the new office bearers without the need for polling.
R S Sumberia was elected as President while H L Kar was elected as Vice President, Vidya Sagar as General Secretary, Rajinder Khajuria as Assistant General Secretary and Prahlad Singh as Treasurer/Cash Secretary.
The elections were held under the supervision of the Returning Officer, C S Toor and the new team has been elected for a term of two years.
Apart from conducting elections, AGM also held deliberations on retirees’ issues. Several members and distinguished speakers shared their views and concerns relating to pensionary benefits, medical facilities, financial security, and other matters affecting the well-being of retirees.
The deliberations held during the AGM on various retirees’ issues will be taken forward appropriately by the newly elected Executive Body in due course.
