JAMMU, Apr 19: A cricket match was organized today to support the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan’, aiming to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle among youth.
The match was played between The Bench Warmers and Vintage 11, delivering an exciting contest. Batting first, The Bench Warmers posted a strong total of 215 runs in 20 overs. Soumay Jain starred with a brilliant 91 off 52 balls, while Aneesh contributed 57 off 38 balls and Amit added a quick 25 off 16 balls. Shivam Gaind took 3 wickets for Vintage 11, while Akshay Kotwal claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Vintage 11 fought well but managed 199/9 in 20 overs. Jaypee scored 43 runs and Ravinder made 42, but the target proved challenging. Arnav Sharma delivered a match-winning bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for 15 runs and was named Impact Player of the Match. Soumay Jain was adjudged Man of the Match for his outstanding batting display. The event successfully highlighted the message of fitness, discipline, and staying away from drugs through sports.
