Grameen Bank organizes Financial Literacy Programmes

JAMMU, Feb 8: Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural in collaboration with NABARD organized nine Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes in unbanked villages Ogmuna, Agrikalan, Phallain, Kirpind, Kotli Mian Fateh, Bhawani, Lam, Chingus and Bagnoti in districts Bandipora, Jammu and Rajouri.
On this occasion, Bishan Dass, Sarpanch Phallain, Jammu along with Shamsher Singh was chief guest at one of these camps and he informed the gathering about developments in banking sector and latest schemes.
He stressed upon the need of using various applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions which not only saves time but also boosts direct revenues of the government in the shape of tax collection.
Representatives of other Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry etc also attended these programmes and highlighted that the programme was intended to impact the gathering regarding digitisation by educating the people about the benefits of digital banking and cashless economy.
Viney Mehra, Branch Head Phallain, J&K Grameen Bank detailed the gathering regarding schemes of the Bank.
Branch Heads, Ogmuna, Agrikalan, Kirpind, Kotli Mian Fateh, Bhawani, Lam, Chingus and Bagnoti enlightened the villagers on use of bank cheques, POS Machine, RuPay Debit Card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions etc.
