Jammu, Aug 2: With a view to give impetus to the initiative of Govt of India to bring every household with banking fold, J&K Grameen Bank opened branches at Digiana and Smailpur centres, bringing the total number of branches to 207.
Prominent citizens of the locality were present on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion Vagish Chander Sharma, Chairman of the bank impressed upon the gathering to avail all types of banking facilities from these newly opened fully computerised branches.
He apprised the gathering that J&K Grameen Bank is spread across 13 districts of State of J&K and is fully committed to the socio economic upliftment of its masses. He also informed that bank will be shortly opening more branches in the unbanked areas of the State. The chairman concluded his brief address by expressing his gratitude to residents of the area for their overwhelming presence.
General Manager, Gurcharan Singh called upon the audience to come forward for availing various banking facilities being provided at their doorstep while ensuring that financial discipline is maintained. Area Manager extended the vote of thanks to the gathering.
