Gram, kabuli grams up Rs 500 a quintal on speculative buying

NEW DELHI, July 9:  Prices of gram and kabli gram surged by Rs 500 on speculative buying against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions.
Masoor also ended higher.
Traders said speculative buying activity against paucity of stocks on restricted restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up gram and kabli gram prices.
In the national capital, gram shot up by Rs 500 each to Rs 8,100-8,400, while its dal local and best quality traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 8,200-8,500 and Rs 8,600-8,700 per quintal, respectively.
Kabli gram small variety also jumped up by Rs 500 to Rs 8,800-10,000 per quintal.
Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted higher Rs 3600 each instead of Rs 3,450 per 35 kg.
Masoor small and bold too advanced by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,350-6,650 and Rs 6,400-6,700 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,900-7,400 and Rs 7,000-7,500 per quintal.
