SONAWARI (Sumbal), Sept 23: Describing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah a visionary, capable and revolutionary personality, Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone today said that Government under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah is working hard for prosperity, welfare and socio-economic development of all three regions of the State, adding that every nook and corner has witnessed developmental progress.
The Minister was addressing a public meeting here today.
Mr. Lone said the implementation of various laws including PSGA, RTI besides establishing Panchayat Raj system has revolutionized the State.
The Minister said Government has capability to revolutionize the State for prosperity, better future and well-being of people and ample developmental and welfare schemes are being implemented all across the State in this regard.
Mr. Lone asked people to extend their whole hearted cooperation to the Government and weigh the policies and programmes of Government on the basis of its performance and not fall prey to propaganda unleashed by vested interests and communal forces.
Mr. Lone asked the people to gear up and get ready for the coming challenges and play a pivotal role in ensuring all round development and prosperity of the State.
The Minister said that peace is pre-requisite for the development and prosperity of the State adding that people’s cooperation is vital in this regard besides it is responsibility of all to contribute for dignified socio-economic development and prosperity of the people of the State.
Among others MLC, Ali Mohammad Dar, former Minister, Syed Abdul Rashid, besides large number of people were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Mr. Lone visited Government Degree College Sumbal and took stock of developmental works being executed. He urged upon the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and expedite the work in stipulated time.
