Govt, semi-Govt bodies celebrate R-Day

JAMMU, Jan 27: 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on Wednesday amid hoisting of National Flag by various Government and semi-Government bodies across Jammu and Kashmir.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board celebrated R-Day by organizing a mega event at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra where Ramesh Kumar, CEO Shrine Board, unfurled the tricolor and took salute at an impressive march-past by the contingents drawn from J&K Police, CRPF, NCC, besides the students of various educational institutions. Among those present on the occasion, included Vimal Indu, President, Municipal Committee, Katra; Abhishek Sharma, SDM, Katra; Amit Bhasin, Addl SP, Katra; Hem Kant Prasher, Director Finance, SMVDSB; Yad Ram Bunker, Commandant, 6th Bn. CRPF; Dr Sunil Sharma, Joint CEO; Deepak Dubey, Vishavjeet Singh, Dy CEOs, SMVDSB, Managers, Engineers and staff of the Shrine Board.
As part of the Republic Day celebrations, CEO Ramesh Kumar also hoisted the tricolor at the Central Office of the Shrine Board at Katra. Sweets were distributed among the children on this occasion. The national flag was also hoisted by Naresh Kumar, SDM at Bhawan in the presence of CRPF, Police and Shrine Board officers and staff.
In the office complex of Directorate of Health Services Jammu, the event started with unfurling of National Flag by Director General Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization and Director Health Services Jammu Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman followed by singing of National Anthem and patriotic songs by officers and officials of the Directorate. The event concluded with distribution of sweets amongst the staff.
On the occasion of Republic Day celebration, National Health Mission, J&K awarded the 105 best functionaries of ASHA Programme. In each district, District Development Commissioner handed over the Appreciation Certificates and cash reward worth Rs 5000 to each selected functionary. Congratulating the winner, Yasin Choudhary, MD, NHM J&K said that this recognition is a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution in implementing all health schemes at the grass root level.
At Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, ADGP/ Director Police Academy Dr S D Singh Jamwal unfurled the National flag and took general salute of the parade contingents. The Director, in his address to the gathering, highlighted the essence of the National Republic day and congratulated the police officers, staff, trainee officers, families of police personnel and their children on this occasion.
PTTI Vijaypur celebrated R-Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. Khalil Ahmed Poswal, SSP (Principal) PTTI Vijaypur presided over the function and hoisted the National Flag in presence of Rajinder Singh Rahi (SP), Vice Principal, Sajjad Ahmed Khan, Dy SP (Indoor/PIO), Satish Kumar, Dy SP (Admn/Outdoor), and staff/trainees of PTTI Vijaypur. Contingents of Police personnel/trainees held March Past, which was led by Inspr Anil Sagar (RI/CDI) as Parade Commander and ASI Shiv Ram (SM Outdoor) as 2nd in Command.
All Jammu based CRPF units and establishments celebrated Republic day with full zeal and fervor. P S Ranpise, IGP Jammu Sector, hoisted the National flag at CRPF campus, Bantalab, Jammu. All the officers and Jawans of J&K Zone, Jammu Sector, Composite Hospital, Range Jammu, Group Centre, AWS-04, B/5 Signal Bn and E/76 Bn CRPF were present. In the evening “Bada Khana” was also organized in Messes.
On the occasion of R-Day, a colourful programme was organized in 160 Bn of CRPF at Chattha, Jammu wherein patriotic songs were presented by the Jawans. Commandant K D Joshi along with Second Commanding Officers Rajesh Sankhla and Angom Naresh Singh, Dy Commanding Officers Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Ajay Kumar Singh and A/C Dhanraj were present.
JKAP-7th Security Battalion celebrated Republic Day at Battalion Hqrs APC, Channi Himmat Jammu. The flag was hoisted by Suneel Raj, Commandant JKAP 7th Security Battalion.
On the occasion of Republic Day, 5th J&K BN NCC, Poonch paid tributes to the brave hearts who laid down their lives in the line of duty to protect the motherland. At Ajote War Memorial, a “Wreath Laying ceremony” was organized by NCC cadets, ANOs, civilian dignitaries and staff of 5 J&K Bn NCC, Poonch. Commanding Officer, Col Shrikant Rai, in his address, exhorted the youth and cadets to follow the ideals of our heroes and veterans and dedicate themselves to service of the nation.
Republic Day was celebrated with national fervour at IRP 19th Battalion Headquarters Kathua wherein SSP Benam Tosh unfurled National flag and took salute at the march past in the presence of SP Santokh Raj, SP Kuldeep Raj Tripathi and other senior officers . A cultural programme was also organized on the occasion.
On the occasion of R-day, Udhampur Police visited families of Police martyrs and enquired about their well-being. On the direction of SSP Dr Vinod Kumar, Police team from PS Udhampur, PS Majalta and PP Roundmail, visited the families of Police martyr. Police also paid rich tributes to the martyrs by lighting lamps at Martyrs memorial at Domel Chowk.
Multiple events were organised by the Army for the Awaam in the three districts of Poonch, Rajouri and Reasi to celebrate the Republic Day. The events were conducted with complete patriotic fervour and enthusiasm in the remote areas of the three districts and schools like the Army Goodwill School, Potha, Pine Wood School, Sabra, Government Higher Secondary School, Kanchi Morh. The celebrations were attended by students, youth, Principals and Teachers, Sarpanches, Government Officials and other members of the society. The functions commenced with hosting of the National Flag followed by the National Anthem.
Army celebrated Republic Day at Pawa Primary School Qasba Village with the aim of instilling the feeling of patriotism among the locals. The programme commenced with flag hoisting and singing of the national anthem. The event was attended by civilians, including village heads.
At Banihal in Ramban, Republic Day was celebrated by Army. The participants included civil administration officials, Security forces officials, opinion makers, Ex Servicemen and NGO persons from Banihal. As the National Flag was unfurled, people stood together for saluting the tricolour and sang the National Anthem.
Similar celebrations were organized by the India Army at Gei, Khankot, Bhart, Gundna, Bhagwah, Doda and Arnora by unfurling the National Flag and holding cultural activities.
The Principal Resident Commissioner, J&K, Bipul Pathak unfurled the National Flag on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day at J&K House, 5-Prithvi Raj Road . A contingent of J&K Armed Police presented the Guard of Honour on the occasion.
J&K Bank MD & CEO Baldev Prakash unfurled the National tricolor in the lawn of Bank’s Zonal Office at Jammu in presence of President Sunit Kumar, Zonal Head Shareesh Sharma besides a good gathering of Bank staff. This year’s Padma Shree Awardee, Prof Vishwa Murti Shastri was chief guest on the occasion.
In Srinagar, Executive President Sunil Gupta unfurled the national flag at Bank’s Corporate Headquarters in presence of Presidents Rajni Saraf, Chetan Paljor, Ashraf Ali, Karanjit Singh, Ashutosh Sareen, Peer Masood Ahmad, Anil Deep Mehta and Syed Rais Maqbool, Vice Presidents and other senior officers of the Bank. The unfurling of flag was followed by singing of national anthem in unison by all the participants. The Republic Day was also celebrated at all zonal offices of the bank.
Airports Authority of India, Jammu celebrated Republic Day at Jammu Airport with great zeal and enthusiasm. Staff of Airports Authority of India, CISF, all airlines and other stake holders participated in the celebrations. The flag was hoisted by Airport Director S K Garg. On this occasion certificate were distributed among the employees of different organization for their outstanding performance at work.
PowerGrid Northern Region Transmission System -II celebrated Republic Day at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza Jammu with gaiety & enthusiasm. Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, PowerGrid Northern Region-II unfurled the flag in the presence of senior officials and employees of the company . Similar functions were organized at all establishments of PowerGrid in the Region comprising of States HP, Punjab, Haryana & UT of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Chandigarh.
Republic Day celebration at the Corporate office of NHPC Limited began with unfurling of the National Flag by A K Singh, CMD, NHPC. At NHPC Regional Office, Jammu, Rajan Kumar, Executive Director, hoisted the flag and recited the national anthem along with the employees. The event was also attended by senior officers and employees, security personnel and staff of NHPC.
R-Day celebration at NHPC Kishanganga Power Station office complex, Kralpora, District Budgam, began with the unfurling of National flag and singing of National Anthem. Parag Saxena, General Manager Incharge, Kishanganga Power Station was chief guest on the occasion.
Dulhasti Power Station celebrated Republic Day with full patriotic fervor and zeal. Chief guest Rajan Jairath , General Manager (Incharge), unfurled the National flag in a function organized at Administrative Building premises of the Power Station. He then inspected the Guard of Honor of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) contingent. Dr Nisha Sharma, General Manager (Medical Services), Mithilesh Prasad Dinkar, General Manager (Electrical) and Sharad Jaikar, General Manger (Civil) and senior officers & employees of Dulhasti Power Station along with Rahul Kumar, Commandant, CISF were present in the function.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Purnima Sharma Dy Mayor JMC and Avny Lavasa, Commissioner JMC hoisted the National Flag at Jammu Municipal Corporation, Town Hall Complex Jammu on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day. They conveyed heartfelt greetings to the employees of JMC and appreciated the work of officers/officials as well as SKCs. Among others, Chairmen of standing committees, Councillors of different wards and other staff from the Corporation were present on the occasion.
Department of Horticulture, Jammu celebrated Republic Day at Directorate of Horticulture, Talab Tillo, Jammu. Ram Sevak, Director Horticulture, Jammu unfurled the National flag. Joint Director Horticulture, Jammu, Deputy Director (Adm/ Plg), Deputy Director Horticulture (Central), Jammu and other District and Block level officers were present on the occasion.
In the R-Day celebration by J&K Road Transport Corporation at Divisional Headquarters, Bikram Chowk Jammu, General Manager (Ops) Jammu, unfurled National flag in the presence of GM(Estates, Sudesh Gupta; Dy GM (Ops) Jammu, Mohd Rafiq, Dy GM ( Ops) Jammu, Surinder Kumar and others. An impressive music programme of patriotic songs was also held on the occasion.
Forest Protection Force celebrated R-Day at its headquarters, Gama Unit J-11 Reasi where Deputy Director FPF Anwar Aftab Shah unfurled the National Flag. Assistant Directors of FPF Reasi, Sudesh Kumar, Suresh Chand and Sham Kumar were also present on the occasion.
The Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of State Bank of India’s Chandigarh Head Office where Anukool Bhatnagar, Chief General Manager, SBI, Local Head Office Chandigarh hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Chander Shekhar Sharma, General Manager (NW-II), Ajay Kumar Jha General Manager (NW-III) and other senior officials. On the occasion, tricolour balloons were also released in the sky as symbol of peace, prosperity and valour of our country. The premises reverberated with patriotic music by choir songs performed on the occasion. The joyful event ended with the distribution of sweets.
On the occasion of 73rd Republic Day, Medical Superintendent SKIMS unfurled National Flag at SKIMS premises. Flag unfurling was followed by impressive parade in which SKIMS security men participated.
In the Republic Day celebration by the Global Peace Organization at Octroi Border, Suchetgarh R S Pura, DIG BSF, S Surjit Singh Sekhon hoisted the National Flag. The volunteers of Global Peace Organization, led by Chairman Sheikh Altaf Hussain also participated in a blood donation camp on the day. ??
