KISHTWAR, Dec 23: In order to honour the sacrifice made by the valiant soldier while protecting the country, District Administration Kishtwar today renamed Government High School Pocchal as Shaheed Om Nath Memorial Government High School Pocchal.
The school has been renamed after the martyr Sub Inspector CRPF, Om Nath from Hatta village who laid down his life during a blast at Injram, District Dantiwara of Chhattisgarh.
The renaming ceremony was organized in the school premises in which Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma was the chief guest whereas Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Bhat was the special guest.
A brief history of the martyr was also written on the wall.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Headmaster Shambu Nath.
Among others present were parents and family members of martyr, Sarpanch Pocchal, staff of the school, locals and senior citizens.
