Govt releases Rs 250 cr to clear pending bills

SRINAGAR:
In view of the Eid-ul-Fitr, the State Government today released Rs 150 crore for contracts and Rs 100 crore to clear GP Fund liabilities today.
An official spokesperson said here that Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Ahmad Drabu, reviewed all the pending claims and liabilities in the treasuries across the State. He said on his directions more than Rs 150 crores were disbursed today to the contractors clearing all the pending bills till date in the treasuries.
Similarly, all pending claims on account of salaries, wages, honorarium, stipend and scholarships which have been received in the treasuries till date have been cleared.
While taking note of the release of Rs 60 crore last week to clear the GP fund liabilities, Dr Drabu also ordered release of another Rs 100 crore in next two days to clear its remaining liabilities of the Government employees.
In addition, NRHM wages to the tune of Rs 10 crore, other departmental liabilities including Rs 2 crore on account of advertising and publicity were also cleared today. (AGENCIES)
