Govt panel to devise roadmap for official languages

JAMMU, May 20: Government of Jammu and Kashmir today constituted a committee for devising a roadmap for identification of areas where the official languages can be notified for use in official purposes.
Headed by the Secretary, Culture Department, the committee shall analyze the overall implications of the proposal. It shall also analyze the capacity building requirement for adaptation of the official languages and comment upon the requirement of resources (physical and financial) for establishment of the setup.
It shall also analyze the competence of the available resources in view of diverse geographical and linguistic diversities.
Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages is Member Secretary of the committee, which will have representatives of Finance Department, Skill development department, Higher Education Department, School Education Department and GAD as the Members.
