JAMMU, Aug  3: Accusing both State and Central Governments of maintaining a criminal silence over the issues of package and other employees who were protesting in support of their demands for last 19 days here at the Relief Commissioner’s office, All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) warned the Government not to test their patience further. These employees have left Valley soon the anti-national elements pelted stones on their transit camps at many places following killing of a dreaded terrorist.
Raising slogans against the State administration, hundreds of protesting employees said the State administration is not looking serious in solving their burning issue which could be well understood from the fact that not a single official from the Government side has visited to the protest site to talk with erring employees. They said that they have faced a step-motherly treatment and less address to their issues since their appointment in Kashmir which continued till date.
The employees are demanding adjustment of package to batch 2007 & 09 employees in Jammu till a comprehensive plan for return and rehabilitation for Pandits will be framed. These employees were not satisfied with their jobs in Valley for so many reasons.
“We demand that the present Government should review this whole employment package which has been implemented by the then State and Centre Governments in haste. First, there is a need to declare this employment as an economic package rather an employment package under return and rehabilitation. Second, all the employees under this package should be posted as per their choice keeping in view of these posts being additional created posts under Central scheme. Third, the salaries of the employees are being directly released by the Centre. So, it must be better if Centre would appoint some authority to look into the whole process of employment,” said, Rakesh Pandita, a core group member of employees.
Criticizing State and Centre Governments of being a mute spectator over their issues and demands, they said that it was surprising that no official communiqué from both State and Centre have been released till date condemning the incidents of violence against minorities in Valley. They said that such kind of attitude by the Governments will strengthen anti-national elements, which are hell bent to vitiate whole atmosphere. They urged the Government to break silence on their issue so that peace loving people of the country should know the evil designs of anti-social and ant-national elements.
Demanding that they should be given justice without subjected much trouble, these employees have made an appeal to Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country for fulfillment of their genuine demands within a short period of time. The employees at protest are being regularly addressed by people from all walks of life besides, extending their support.
Meanwhile, KHC leader Jaikrishan Raina Maktoom while addressing demonstration made an appeal to all KP organizations to join struggle launched by the package employees in the larger interests of the community so that present struggle can be taken to its logical conclusion.
