Govt needs to take into confidence locals in Kashmir to ensure peace: AAP

JAMMU, June 3: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today emphasized that without taking into confidence the local populace, peace in Kashmir could not be established.
Strong condemning targeted killings of civilians and security personnel in the Kashmir Valley, AAP spokesperson Jagdeep Singh said that Centre has completely failed to deal with the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing media persons here today, Singh said all claims of the Government regarding restoration of normalcy and peace in Kashmir has been exposed with the 9 targeted killings in last one month by the terrorists in Kashmir.
He said the law and order seemed to have totally collapsed in Kashmir, apparently due to lack of coordination between security forces, thus forcing Jammu based employees and Kashmiri Pandit employees to flee Kashmir to save their lives.
Jagdeep said it is not possible to provide security to each and every people in Kashmir. “Government can give security to its employees but about migrant labour from others states that have been doing different type of works in Kashmir to earn bread and butter for their families,” he questioned.
The AAP leader demanded the Government to take some bold steps to stop target killings and restore peace in Kashmir, which he said is not possible without the support of the local populace.
