Govt must talk to HC Bar: Citizen’s Forum

JAMMU, Nov 7: Citizen’s Forum, Jammu has appealed to the Lt Governor G C Murmu to talk to the protesting Jammu High Court Bar Association members and resolve the issue.
In a press statement here today president of the Forum, R K Chadha said that Forum is no body to advise the Government on the subject but for maintaining the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu territory the Forum would prefer to render its contribution. He said Jammu is also suffering along with Kashmir because of strict restrictions imposed there and internet suspension.
He said Jammu too, is passing through rough stage of depression and lack of peace of mind. Govt declared the UT as disturbed area and it is issuing orders in hurry, which are against the interests of the people of the region and that too, having no discussion/ consultation on the subjects. There is lot of cry over the two recent orders about shifting of High Court to Raika-Bahu forests and transfer of Registration powers to revenue officers. He said Bahu Forest is the life line of Jammu people and thousands of trees will be felled there in raising HC complex. Govt must review its decision, he added.
Forum president appealed to the Governor to discuss the issue with the agitating HC Bar Association and resolve the issue in the larger interest of the people of Jammu.
