NEW DELHI: As a Diwali bonanza to more than 23 lakh family members belonging to the Armed forces, the Centre today notified One Rank, One Pension Scheme for the military veterans.
The demand for OROP has become a reality after the notification of the scheme, Defence ministry Chief Spokesperson Sitanshu Kar confirmed to media persons.
“The wait is over. OROP notification is issued,” Mr Kar tweeted. “Pension of past pensioners would be re-fixed on the basis of pension of retirees of 2013 and the benefit will be applicable from 1 July 2014,” he said. (AGENCIES)
