JAMMU, Jan 8: Expressing his anguish over deliberately ignoring unemployed and deserving youth of Jammu region in recruitment, senior vice president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma, today warned BJP leadership in general and party ministers in particular against testing patience of Jammu people.
Addressing Block Congress Committee monthly meeting at Akhnoor, Sham Lal said that patience of the peace loving people of Jammu region, especially youth has been running out because during the last nearly three years this region has been ignored in all spheres of life.
He said that it appears that the incumbent Government in which BJP is equal partner is treating residents of Jammu region as second class citizens because despite having required qualification and merit, deserving youth were singled out without any reason.
Taking dig on BJP, Sham asked BJP to clarify their stand on the issue of granting amnesty to stone pelters and subsequently providing jobs by PDP to them with whom they are the alliance partners. He said that BJP-PDP Government on one hand doing injustice with the youth of Jammu region in providing jobs and on the other side the anti-nationalist who are being released from jails in valley are being rewarded with employment.
“With this discriminatory attitude, Government is compelling the Jammu youth to indulge in violence. The valley is already disturbed due to wrong policies of Government and now the Government wants to create disturbance in Jammu too which is otherwise peaceful”, he added.
Coming down heavily on BJP leadership especially party Ministers/MLAs for not uttering even a single word against discrimination with Jammu region, former Congress Minister said that BJP leadership is answerable to the people of Jammu who had voted over-whelming in favour of BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha and Assembly election with a hope that party would fulfill its promises.
He said that BJP has completely surrendered before its partner to play as second fiddle in the coalition to remain in power. “This is not a coalition but a collusion regime where the parties lack consensus on important issues,” he charged.
