POONCH, Mar 19: The dilapidated condition of school building located in Kalaban area of Mendhar Sub Division, is mocking the Government claims about ensuring better education in Government run schools.
Established in 1970, this 50 year old Govt Girls Primary School at Kalaban in Mankote Block is in shambles. Its four rooms out of the total 5, have been declared as unsafe by the R&B Department. The roll of the students in the school is witnessing a dip as people do not want to send their children in an unsafe school.
Sarpanch Kalaban, Mohd Taj Bajjar said that the building was lying completely in a bad shape and that is only one room which has been turned into a joint class room where the students of 1st class to 8th class are bundled.
Furthermore, there is no drinking water facility available in the school. In order to fetch water, kids have to walk for miles together. Sarpanch urged upon the administration to address the issue on priority and provide relief to the aggrieved students and their parents.
