JAMMU, July 14: For selection of Ombudsman under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has re-constituted Apex Level Selection Committee.
Headed by Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, the Committee shall recommend the selection of Ombudsman in each district and termination of the same from his/her post in case of unsatisfactory performance.
The four-member Selection Committee is comprising representative of Union Ministry of Rural Development and an eminent civil society person nominated by the ministry besides Secretary, Department of Rural development & Panchayati Raj as the Member Secretary.
The quorum for meeting of the Selection Committee shall be considered fulfilled only if either the representative of the Ministry of Rural Development or representative of Civil Society Organization is present in the meeting.
