Govt extends Employees’ Insurance Policy

JAMMU, June 27: The Government today extended for one more year the Employees’ Group Janta Personal Accidental Insurance Policy.
The Government had tied up for the Policy with M/s Oriental Insurance Company Limited for three years commencing from June 14, 2011 to over accidental death and disabilities.
A fresh order issued by the Finance Department today said the policy would cover all Government employees besides the staff of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), autonomous bodies including Local Bodies and Universities, daily rated workers engaged by Government Departments, PSUs, autonomous bodies before January 31, 1994 and continued to work till date.
The policy is compulsory, sources said, adding the employee would have to pay Rs 90 only plus State Tax at the rate of Rs 9 per employee.
