Govt committed to bring historical shrines on tourist map: Ganga

SAMBA, Apr 6: Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga today said that the Government will take requisite steps to  bring the historical shrine of Purmandal on the map of country’s pilgrimage tourism to give fillip to tourism sector and boost the economy of the area.
Ganga said this after receiving the 19th Holy Chhari Mubarak Yatra which commenced from Shri Ranbireshawar Mandir Parade Ground Jammu and culminated at historic Shiv Temple, Purmandal.
The Minister was accompanied by MLA Samba Dr Devinder Singh Manyal, District Development Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda, Former Minister and Chairman Purmandal/ Utterbehni Shrines Development Committee Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak and CEO SMDA Vikas Gupta.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that  Purmandal has a great historic  importance and a large number  of devotees’ visits this holy place throughout the year. He also expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements being made by the district administration, Surinsar Mansar Development Authority and Purmandal/ Utterbehni Shrines Development Committee.
He said that Government is committed to develop Purmandal and Utterbehni shrines so that it would come up on tourist map giving a fillip to tourism activities in the area. MLA Samba Dr Devinder Singh Manyal has assured of providing a Community Facility Centre at Purmandal.
Responding to the issues raised by the locals pertaining to the development of the area, Ganga said that all the genuine issues would be redressed soon. He also directed the concerned officers of  Surinsar Mansar Development Authority and Purmandal/ Utterbehni Shrines Development Committee to prepare a comprehensive plan for development of the shrine.
